The project for the new Civic Center of San Giovanni Teatino is articulated in two buildings one develops the administrative and public function and the other the recreational public part. The administrative building, that dominates the principal square, is destinated to the offices. The square lifts up and englobes the auditorum, the senior center, the youth center and the library.
The town hall is conceived as a cube, made in glass in the square side, and closed in the remainders side, the building wants to be a diaphram between the square and the railroad, it has a sort of function to screen and protect from all the infrastructures that cut the municipality of San Giovanni Teatino. The façade on the square side opens toward to the city, that permeates the building creating a spatial condition in continuity with the outside.
The building of the center services is closed on the façade as a rock that it raises from the ground, this rock block is interrupted by the presence of passages, that have the function to make the project permeable stitching the two urban part cutted by the project and uniting the two roads that coast along the building, and as in the town building the walls are covered in basalt with slots that allow the light to enter.
